Open WebUI + OpenRouter: Interface and Inference for Enterprise AI

Organizations adopting AI today generally buy interfaces and inference in a bundle. They want their employees to be able to learn and standardize on a single UI, but that means getting bound to models from a single lab. Yet the pace of model development means that the best performing model comes from a different lab every few weeks.

The alternative is no better: getting access to best intelligence requires separate vendors, separate billing, separate API keys, no single point of control, and employees needing to learn to use a bunch of different UIs.

So we built the obvious thing: one interface, every model into a single offering. That's what we're doing with OpenRouter.

Interface + Inference, Together#

Open WebUI is the interface layer: the chat experience, admin controls, document grounding, audit trails, SSO, and group permissions. OpenRouter aggregates 600+ models from leading providers into a single API with unified billing, optimized routing, and usage tracking.

Together, organizations get a single platform with immediate access to hundreds of models and a streamlined path to deployment.

What Changes for the Customer#

Before this, an organization deploying Open WebUI would set up the platform, then separately sign up with model providers, configure API keys, and manage those relationships independently. It worked, but it was friction.

Now we're making it possible to get interface and inference working together out of the box. Deploy Open WebUI, and models are already available through OpenRouter. Your team picks a model and starts working. Your admin sets permissions and usage limits from the same dashboard.

This is built for organizations that want AI deployed broadly, across departments, not just engineering. Whether you're a growing company or a large enterprise, the value is the same: less vendor management, faster time to deployment.

What Each Side Brings#

Open WebUI brings the interface: group-based access control, document-grounded responses with citations, configurable audit trails, SSO, admin dashboards, and the flexibility to deploy on-premise, in a private cloud, or through our managed offering.

OpenRouter brings the models: 600+ models from leading providers, usage-based pricing, optimized routing, and the infrastructure to serve workloads at scale.

What's Next#

This is a starting point. We'll be iterating on the integration based on what customers need as they deploy. The partnership is live, and we're taking on early customers now.

Why Open WebUI#

Open WebUI is deployed across Fortune 500 companies and organizations of all sizes worldwide. It's self-hostable, model-agnostic, and built with governance and security from the ground up. Millions of pulls, thousands of contributors, and a release cadence that moves fast.

This partnership with OpenRouter extends what's already there for customers looking for a simpler path to production AI.

We're onboarding customers now. If your organization wants a packaged AI deployment with Open WebUI and OpenRouter, reach out to get started.
