4. Your Responsibilities

Open WebUI is available to users on the condition of your acceptance of these responsibilities:

  • Compliance: You must comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws when using the platform.
  • User Conduct: You may not misuse the platform to post illegal, harmful, or misleading content.
  • User Content: Any information, content, or data you upload to the platform is shared willingly and with your understanding of the risks associated with online environments.

By submitting User Content to Open WebUI, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and modify such content only within the necessary purposes of platform operation.

5. Privacy and Data

Open WebUI respects the value of your privacy and complies with applicable privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). However:

  • By using the platform, you agree we may collect, process, and store personal information for purposes consistent with providing and improving our services.
  • While we implement reasonable safeguards to protect your information, you understand and acknowledge that no online system is completely secure. Any data shared is done so at your own risk.
  • We do not direct the sharing of any information you enter or upload—that responsibility is entirely yours.

  • We cannot and do not guarantee the uninterrupted or error-free operation of the platform or the security of the data stored or transmitted through it.

Our promise to "care" for you cannot, and should not, be misconstrued as assuming liability for risks you take while using our platform.

7. Limitation of Liability and Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted under applicable law:

  • Open WebUI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the platform, even if we are aware of the possibility of such damages.
  • You fully indemnify and hold harmless Open WebUI, its affiliates, employees, officers, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
    • Your breach of these Terms.
    • Any misuse of the platform.
    • Any disputes arising from your User Content or activities.

This section applies regardless of any explicit or implied statements of intent made elsewhere in these Terms.

8. Modifications to the Platform or Terms

  • Open WebUI reserves the right to alter, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the platform at any time, without notice or liability to users.
  • We may modify these Terms as needed, and any updates will be posted with a revised "Effective Date." Your continued use constitutes acceptance of these updates.

Such changes, modifications, or discontinuations may occur even when inconvenient or unexpected, and we will exercise good judgment to act in the platform's best interest.

9. Governing Law and Disputes
